Adding videos to your website may be a great idea, but it won’t help your site rank better on Google.
“Having a video on your page will absolutely not help you rank better in web search,” said Google’s Gary Illyes in response to a Twitter discussion.
So don’t expect it to make a different when it comes to SEO – unless it’s a negative one. If it slows down your page load, it could have a negative impact in how Google ranks your page.
