When it comes to trust, local TV news reigns supreme.  According to market research firm SmithGeiger (doing research for Hearst Television), 73% of news consumers say they trust at least one local TV news brand in their market – far outdistancing any other news source on any platform.

81% of 18-49 year olds say they watch a local TV newscast at least once per week, although they may be watching on TV, online, or OTT.  Nearly half (49%) say they watch every day.
