I put this up right outside my office door to remind everybody who walks into our TV station how important it is that journalists do their job.

The Bill of Rights warrants Congress shall make no law abridging the Freedom of Speech, or of the Press.  The founders saw journalists role as so important it is the only profession guaranteed special protection and they put it in the First Amendment.

By the way, you can buy a copy on parchment paper for about $9 bucks.  I got mine on a recent trip to Washington’s home in Mt. Vernon.  The frame, however, set me back about $200.  I figured it was worth it.
