I truly believe that to build a strong community, you have to invest in it. I created The $1 Million Dollar Community Investment as a way to provide media grants to local non-profits doing important work. By finding sponsors to underwrite the campaign, it allowed us to run PSA messages in high profile time periods.
As the program evolved, we also began giving away cash grants – currently $1,000 checks twice a month, on behalf of the station and its sponsors to programs with more immediate needs.
Organizations and individuals could go on our website and sign-up to be a recipient of the $1 Million Community Investment.
